La colección de fachadas esgrafiadas de Piera sorprende a cualquier visitante de esta villa que tiene como telón de fondo el macizo de Montserrat. El conjunto arquitectónico incluye edificios como Cal Freixades, Cal Martinet, Cal Pelagalls y sobre todo Cal Sastre —un palacio barroco con una magnífica representación de los oficios durante el s. XVIII— que se suceden a lo largo de una de las calles principales del casco antiguo. Además, Piera tiene abundantes ejemplos de arquitectura civil gótica, neoclásica y modernista, plazuelas, un castillo y la monumental iglesia de Santa María, levantada en el s. X y reformada en tiempos del barroco.
