Montsonís, Lleida

El conde de Urgell levantó el hermoso castillo de Montsonís a comienzos del s. XI, con el fin de proteger estas tierras de los musulmanes. Destaca la espectacular torre del homenaje y el bello ventanal de estilo gótico de la fachada, que esconde secretos como la habitación sin puerta, la prisión o el pasadizo secreto que se pueden recorrer en visitas teatralizadas. El paso posterior de diferentes linajes incorporó sucesivas modificaciones a la fortaleza, en torno a la que se extiende el minúsculo caserío. Éste llama la atención por sus sólidos edificios de piedra, presididos por un templo de buen porte en cuyas cercanías se asienta el cementerio, abierto al accidentado paisaje de La Noguera.
