Monasterio de Guadalupe, Cáceres

Edificado en el lugar donde la leyenda dice que se apareció la Virgen y parcialmente reconvertido en hospedería, este imponente edificio se convirtió enseguida en un popular lugar de peregrinación y un activo centro de cultura. En la visita se pueden ver algunos de sus libros más valiosos, expuestos en la sala capitular, y también una muestra de los bordados que realizaban los monjes entre los s. XV y XVII. El conjunto monacal incluye dos bonitos claustros, uno mudéjar, presidido por un magnífico templete donde está el lavatorio, y el otro gótico-mudéjar. Muy cerca se alza el antiguo hospital de peregrinos y las calles del pueblo también mantienen sabor y encanto medieval.
