Las Muñecas, León

Esta pequeña localidad es una de las poblaciones que se asoman al recogido valle del Tuéjar que pertenecía a los marqueses del Prado. La presencia de esta familia de la nobleza se remonta a la Edad Media y sus prácticas feudales dejaron una huella muy profunda en este paisaje idílico, regado por las aguas del río Cea y cubierto de vegetación. El recorrido por sus calles de tierra permite disfrutar de algunos hermosos edificios de gruesas paredes de piedra, sobre los que se alza la iglesia, con una torre cilíndrica que en otros tiempos sirvió para acceder a las campanas, cuando éstas marcaban el transcurso del día con sus repiques. En el cercano pueblo de La Mata de Monteagudo se puede visitar el Santuario de La Velilla con una buena colección de retablos renacentistas.
