Fuentidueña, Segovia

Junto al río Duratón y protegida por un recinto amurallado románico que parte del castillo, se asienta esta villa rica en manantiales. Tuvo importancia en la Edad Media y contaba con un rico patrimonio de casonas y palacios, algunos en estado ruinoso, al igual que sus hospitales. También tenía dos espléndidas iglesias románicas, una de ellas con excepcionales pinturas que fueron vendidas y ahora adornan el museo de los Claustros en Nueva York. La iglesia de san Miguel conserva una extraordinaria colección de capiteles, algunos de ellos eróticos, y donde estuvo el templo de san Martín hay una necrópolis visigoda. A destacar además el conjunto de bodegas, perforadas en la roca, que en algunos casos muestran en los dinteles fechas de construcción del s. XIX. A las afueras se conserva el antiguo convento de san Francisco, convertido en hospedería.
