El Barco de Ávila, Ávila

Esta animada localidad conserva su robusto castillo levantado en el s.XII sobre un viejo castro a orillas del Tormes y parte de sus murallas. La iglesia parroquial es posterior y alberga un rico tesoro que incluye la capilla del Inquisidor y un valioso órgano barroco. Paseando por sus calles podemos encontrar palacios y antiguos edificios públicos —como el teatro Lagasca— que también tienen interés. La agradable ermita del Chorro, sobre una fuente, y un conjunto de casas blasonadas completan el valioso patrimonio de la villa. Quienes disfrutan con los platos contundentes, tienen a su alcance una famosa legrumbre local, las judías de El Barco, cuyas variedades se pueden adquirir en los comercios del pueblo.
