Castrotorafe, Zamora

Junto a un tramo embalsado del Esla se levantan las ruinas de lo que fue una pujante ciudad medieval, nacida al borde de la Vía de la Plata para proteger el puente que unía los reinos de Castilla y Galicia. El solitario paraje conserva restos del castillo con dos puertas de acceso, una a la población y otra hacia el puente que cruzaba el río además de un foso, de el que aún quedan vestigios. También se aprecian restos de sus iglesias y de lo que fue un soberbio recinto amurallado.
