Caravaca de la Cruz, Murcia

Capital de un reino de taifa, conserva su casco medieval en torno al castillo con una estructura irregular donde se entrecruzan callejuelas, placitas y calles sin salida que esconden rincones encantadores y un buen conjunto de iglesias de todo tipo. Destaca también el palacio de la Encomienda, hoy en manos de particulares, o el templete del Bañadero. Pero su joya más preciada es el santuario de la Vera Cruz, en el recinto fortificado del castillo con una imponente fachada de mármol de colores, presidido por la Cruz de Caravaca. En un palacio de la localidad se ha habilitado el Museo de los Caballos del Vino, representantes de su fiesta más popular, declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco. A poca distancia está el paraje de las Fuentes del Marqués, un agradable paraje donde abundan los manantiales y con un centro de interpretación ubicado en el Torreón de los Templarios.
