Bonilla de la Sierra, Ávila

Sorprende la intacta fisonomía medieval y la tranquilidad de este pequeño pueblo declarado Conjunto Histórico y que sirvió como lugar de residencia veraniega de los obispos de Ávila en los siglos XV y XVI.  De esa época es la monumental iglesia-colegiata, consagrada a San Martín de Tours. El templo es de estilo gótico y preside la amplia plaza Mayor, rodeada de casas solariegas con algunos soportales sujetos con columnas de piedra. Bonilla cuenta además con un castillo, de propiedad privada, en el que destaca la torre del homenaje. Otros elementos que remiten al pasado medieval del pueblo son la Puerta de la Villa, la única que sigue en pie del recinto amurallado, del que se conservan algunos lienzos. También se conserva el pozo de Santa Bárbara, que abastecía a la población desde hace casi un milenio.
